Show Me your Tweets

(That sounded dirty in a weird way, didn't it?)

Okay, so Twitter. I've got one, but I'm such a horrible Tweeter. I honestly feel I don't have anything that pressing to announce to my "Tweeples" (that needs to be nominated for the absolute most moronic word ever btw) that I need to Tweet it. Why wouldn't I just blog it?

Twitter kind of fascinates me. It's become absolutely SO unbelievably popular. I just don't understand it. Maybe I'm too old to "get it"? Not only do I feel I have nothing really of importance to say (although today I have to say I did Tweet about a crackhead showing up at work, but that was a rare gem), and I wouldn't want to be absolutely lame by Tweeting things such as -- "Bored today." "Eating my sandwich for lunch." "Work is awesome, I am happy!", I just don't have the -time- to read my Twitter all the time and keep up with it and everyone.

I hear you're not really supposed to, though... and maybe that's where I don't get it. I have Twitter on my BB so I am able to check my friends page whenever, but I don't have many people that I follow/are following me. The people with hundreds of followers... yikes! I'd feel overwhelmed and also feel the need to catch up on what I missed out on, leaving me perpetually bungling back to read hour-old Tweets.

I guess it can be used for networking and stuff too. And business. But I don't know enough about that.

OKAY, enough of my skeptical blar. You tell me; do you Twitter? Do you use it a lot? What do you think of it? Let me know your opinions! Sometimes I feel like a black sheep in feeling that Twitter just isn't really all that cool!

(But that bird is damn cute!)

(By the way, if you do want to follow me, my TweetieName or whatever is 'mufasa'; please just leave me a note in my comments to let me know you're following, and what your TweedlyDeedlyDee name is, because I seem to get a lot of promotional TwitSpam adds!)

I do Tweet but I'm selective about who I follow.

I prefer to Tweet from my phone. I almost never tweet from my computer.

I think we're too YOUNG for Twitter, not too old! Twitter is a very simplified version of social networking. Our generation is used to MORE - such as Myspace, Facebook, and blogging. Since we've grown up with technology, we are able to easily navigate and partake in it. The popularity of Twitter, however, skews 30-45 year olds, which explains the wonders of its simplicity. But it is now growing increasingly popular with our generation (though I don't know anyone who keeps up with it THAT much).

I have an account, but honestly I haven't updated it in weeks.

For me, the jury is still out on Twitter.

I'm probably the most tech savvy person I know and I still don't have much practical use for twitter.

When my "very-computer" friend first described Twitter to me, I laughed. Full, hearty laughs. Out-loud, rudely, at the ridiculous-ness of needing to get a play-by-play of friends, strangers, celebrities', lives.

"This will be a week fad," I thought.

Fast-forward a couple months...and I now am trying to figure out how I give play-by-plays in 140 characters or less....???

I used to tweet, but due to the my inability to write what I'm doing down in less than a hundred words, I found it utterly useless. Therefore, I blog ;)

I knew about Twitter for awhile before it became obsessively popular. I agree that what could one possibly have to save constantly that isn't boring. That's why I really like facebook. You can put important status updates (like when the little old man hit on me in the grocery parking lot -- asked if he could come home with me... hahaha...) and not have to worry about really mundane things like "I'm bored at work." But I guess it's for some people. *shrug*

I do not Tweet, or can't even understand how to read the damn Tweets. I go to my friends Twitter page and there's alot of the tweets @someone - it's like evesdropping on a phone conversation because you can't hear what the other person said to instigate that response. I also agree that there's alot of mundane chatter that doesn't interest me. I can hardly wait to see what the next technological must have is going to be! Video Tweets? Yikes!

Twitter is fun, then it gets boring then it gets fun again. Add me: ConstAttitude :)

I agree completely! I don't get the fascination with Twitter at all, and I'm kind of glad there are others out there like me. :) I have an account and I follow a few of my friends, but... isn't it easier to just call or text them than to go to a third-party site to find out what's happening? It's definitely such an odd phenomenon!

the logo of twitter, the blue bird, is starting to dominate the world once ruled by the yellow birds (tweetie bird and big bird)...

seriously, twitter is good. if you got something in mind which is less than 140 characters, u better tweet it than blog it. but they say, microblogging (such as twitter) is slowly killing the blogosphere... i dont know if it's true, but i still prefer real blogging.

btw, i found ur blog thru the Canadian Doubles... i see that you're a regular there too...

I just started tweeting and I actually like it a lot. I think it's good for posting those random thoughts you have that aren't worthy of blogging, but that you might text message to a friend. (John Mayer is really good about that. It is often amusing.)

I also really enjoy following the twitters (tweets?) of travel companies like Expedia and Jet Blue to get good deals.
