Day 10 of 16 - God Help Us

I am bored.

Bored out of my everloving GOURD.

Today I did laundry, watched some Lost episodes (need more dvd's!), read my book, diddled around on the internet...

It's sad, right -- it's only been a week or so but I really just want to slam my head against the wall. I think the fact that I'm on a serious budget (read: spending nothing) severely limits my options.

So, fellow bloggers, for you I have a challenge:

OCCUPY ME.

Leave a comment and tell me what you do when you're bored, or what I should do! A few caveats:

- No going to the beach. Been there, done that, ran out of quarters.
- No purchasing anything. I'm on a zero-tolerance for spending. (Sadly.) So also, no extreme driving as that would require extreme gas.

Am I being silly for being bored? Or should I just revel in my time off and relax and do absolutely nothing? I don't freeeeeeakin' know!! I do know that soon I'll be sitting in the fetal position in the corner, rocking back and forth like an egg.

So yeah, suggest away, and maybe I'll have a fun and exciting update tomorrow with me trying said suggestions! YEE HAW. Aaauuuugggghhhhhhh..................

Digiscrap, digiscrap, digiscrap! (Don't need money with the freebies out there, and you use your own software. Easy peasy.)

Start/update your family history. (Or, begin by writing the story of you!)

Take a walk in a different direction and see what new things you find!

Read (visit library to supplement).

(Uhm, I'm sure I could think of more, but I gotta get dinner out of the oven!)

If you were near by I would make you help with my save-the-date cards. My fingers are cramping.

I'm thinking though if you live in a beach town and its summer there should be festivals and stuff going on. Free concerts in the park? Shakespear in the park? I usually go hiking or fishing (not much to do where I live) but fishing costs money if you don't have the gear. There's dollarstorecraft.com if you want to do something that costs a little money- or maybe you have some supplies at home already. Of course you can always clean and organize and give away the stuff you don't want anymore. Volunteer maybe? Is there a telescope around? I think mars is supposed to be super close right now.

Ok- stopping now :) My list will get so long here that you won't have any time after reading it!

Do you have a digital camera? When I'm bored, I go out with a theme in mind and snap away. I'm a bit of a fanatic though. Hehehe
You're also an excellent writer so write away. Your words always put a smile on my face. Use some of your blogs and call it, "Confessions of a blogger."
Use your photos and write a short story or even a paragraph describing the scene in your own words.
You can always come to my house and help me clean. :)))
Enjoy your down time. Catch up on your sleep, visit a friend for a spot of tea and some chit-chat. Go for a nature walk and breathe in the fresh air.
There are so many things you can do but my mind has gone blank. Have fun, use your fantastic imagination, and do something that you've always wanted to do but couldn't find the time. Go to an animal shelter and take a dog for a walk. They will certainly enjoy the company and friendship!
What ever you do, keep smiling!

How about trying some of the cool photo memes? There are so many and taking photos is a great way to pass the time. Macro is the best, but all photos are great.

Better yet, create a new meme! You have a great imagination, challenge the rest of us.

If you were close by, as Valerie said, I would have you organize my photo files and a million other things.

I do understand, I have trouble doing the relaxing thing, I need to stay busy.

My suggestions:

1. Bake something new. Use ingredients you already have and find a recipe or make one up. Then take pics and blog about it.

2. Hike. Bring your camera.

3. Catch up on a tv series you've always wanted to see. I just started 30 Rock in my unemployment, and lovee it. You can get it free online.

4. Learn. Have old or new textbooks? Yea, I know, I'm a dork, but there's no such thing as learning too much.

5. Read.

6. Play ridiculous online games at bored.com. Or take up sudoku.

7. Today you can get something free at Starbucks... at least where I live. Get caffeinated!

8. Freewrite

9. Melt old candles in hot water, and create new candles. There are free instructions online, and its an AWESOME free and interesting craft, if you have old candles.

10. Garden. Get down and dirty!

I hope my list helps! Good luck!

I like your new blog look! Very cool.

When I'm bored I rearrange my furniture and organize things.

All great ideas above....I have a 2 year old so I can NOT relate. I now can spend hours building lego towers or chasing leaves with him. But since you would poke your eye out if you had to do that, and cleaning the house is not what your after, what about:
If I had hours free right now I would:

Learn as much as possible about wine to dazzle all friends. There is SO much to learn and endless info on the net.

Or you can come here and help me mind my busy munchkin. LOL.

Rearrange your furniture - laugh. It works when I'm bored.
