So, here are my ten things:

1. My very first crush was on Richard Dean Anderson, aka MacGuyver. I was five. Augh. Mullet.
2. I would *much* rather spend a quiet evening in watching movies and having drinks than going out to a bar/club and staying up late. Yep. Getting old!
3. Scrabble is my favorite board game ever!!
4. One of my big pet peeves is impatient people that stand right-behind-you in a checkout line at a store. That's not making you go any faster, dingbat!
5. I dislike Lady Gaga. Her songs are somewhat catchy but she's trying way too hard as a 'person' to be a unique snowflake.
6. My bed is my no-worry zone. Regardless of whatever's been worrying me during the day or stressing me out, I leave it at the door and relax in my safe-haven bed. :)
7. I haven't been to the dentist in a year and a half. Ack!! I know. Not only am I a dentophobe, but I'm also unemployed.
8. There is a stuffed walrus on our refrigerator.
9. I own the SeaQuest season 1 boxset. Yeah, I know ... awesome!!
10. I love being outside during thunderstorms. They are amazing!


Phew. Totally done with babbling about myself! It always takes me for-ev-er to think up those little random factoids. ;)

Trying some flowers! (& an award!)

So today I took some of these...


and planted them in all of these...!

(No, not my sneakers!)

The big bag of mixed flower seed was given to us as a gift, and I bought the marigolds and cosmos at Lowes today with some potting soil. I've never planted *anything* before, so I'm excited to see how these turn out!! (Hopefully good!!) I've got them in a good spot for morning sun and will be watering them every morning when I wake up. So ... fingers (and flower stems) crossed for me! I'll keep you posted on my flower progress. :)

I planted the marigolds in the big brown pot, the cosmos in the green one, and the mixed in the two smaller ones. I chose marigolds and cosmos because I read that they were good 'beginner' flowers, and do well in containers. Lets hope so...

My sickness has faded down to a dull roar, thankfully. I'm still feeling pretty icky, and my sinuses are all clogged now! Thanks everyone for your well wishes and sickie-medicine advice, I appreciate it!! :)

I've gotten a few awards recently and I wanted to post them! The first is the Dragon's Loyalty award from Moonjava. She just got a new betta fish, and I want to see pictures!! :)

Now that I've duly embarassed myself, I'm going to give out these awards! You don't necessarily have to post them, but I wanted to highlight some blogs of note, ones that I am reading a lot lately and am always happy to see pop up on my Google reader sidebar with new posts. :)

For the Dragon's Loyalty award, I choose The Caped Tirader!; he does, of course, wear a cape and tirade around, and is quite witty doing it, but lately he's been doing a set of Halloween-themed posts about great horror movies!! Love it. Paul at Graduwait.com is another great read with lots of insightful, funny, and well-written posts.

For the ULTIMATE MEMEEEE (imagine that fading off slowly), I choose KS at While We're Waiting... She is hosting an awesome fall giveaway that I neeeed to enter, and her posts are always so fun and full of lovely pictures!! Lauren From Texas gets this one too; she is wonderful lady with a great blog, an adorable dog, and she has fantastic hair!! What more could a gal ask for, I wonder?? :)

And okay, before I forget: KS is having a fall giveaway full of tasty smells and you should really check it out here!! Yankee Candles are the mega-yum!

And I've been sitting here for 10 minutes trying to decide who I should give this award out to, but I just can't decide! All of my blogfriends are awesome in their own way, and I just want to thank you for all of your input, comments, and fun times. :) YAY!

So I finished Twilight yesterday and while it was pretty good, I don't know if I'll be running out to get the next one. The Host was just a better book IMO. But they were both good reads! I'd like to see the movie now, and I'm sure I'll read them all eventually. :) (Now I need a new book to read though, LOL... library time!)

And, our house now has real walls and a shingled roof, but I don't have photos yet! Hopefully over the weekend I can post one, we are very excited!!!!! :)

We have been getting some of the outer effects of the passing hurricanes lately - Bill gave us some gloomy weather last weekend, and Danny gave us some really gorgeous thunderstorms last night. Here's hoping one doesn't decide to sit right on us!

I haven't posted in a while... I've been SO BUSY! And tired!! I'm biting the bullet and taking off Friday -- even though I won't get paid for it -- because I want a relaxing 3-day weekend! I mean, I'm coming home at lunch and napping. Yeesh! And besides, the 4th of July holiday falls on a Saturday this year, so we won't get a 3-day weekend for that. So I'm planning a nice, relaxing little beach outing, and lots of napping. :) Matt and I are going to go rent a paddleboat at Greenfield Lake Park and paddle down the rivers! Wooooo! Hafta bring the camera for that one... :)

Hope y'all had a nice relaxing weekend -- although I took a few naps, I was still tired this morning, but I did have a great little weekend. Felt way too short though! Oh well, 3-dayer soon. ;)
